Past
Let's see. I graduated from Towson University and University of Maryland University College. I wanted to go into film, particularly film scoring - but I have zero musical talent, at least not enough to compete with Hans Zimmer. So, I went into Advertising and later Technology Management instead. I don't regret it. As it turns out, I can play Pandora quite well.
Present
At present, I am a Product Owner for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs, where I lead a team of developers, UX Designers, and Product Managers toward implementing various conversational experiences. It has been an exciting time, and I quite enjoy what I do.
Future
I find myself growing into my Product Owner/Manager shoes day by day and loving the experience of guiding the strategy of what I am building. So I plan to continue honing my skills as a "PM with a UX heart." My goal is to create experiences that delight people (notice I didn't say, users). To that end, and to fulfill my sense of curiosity, I am also looking into the future - augmented reality, virtual reality, and its various intersections with voice and AI. I am interested in user experience (especially Discovery) in all of those areas. On a personal level, I want to spend a year or two in Europe at some point. I lived briefly in Scotland, and I miss it! For the long term, I want to retire in Europe and dedicate my later years to archaeology and learning Hellenic Greek (I'm a geek).
